Upgrading existing laboratory to an accredited premium service laboratory in Sri Lanka

The goal of this proposal is to obtain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for a laboratory dedicated to testing and quality assurance in the gem and jewellery industry. This standard ensures that laboratories meet international standards of competence and are capable of producing reliable testing results for gemstones, precious metals, and jewellery products.

Objectives

To achieve ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the gem and jewellery testing laboratory to ensure competence in testing processes and results.
To enhance the credibility and trust of the gem and jewellery industry by ensuring that all tests meet international standards.
To implement standardized testing procedures for critical attributes such as gemstone authenticity, quality, color grading, UV resistance, and precious metal content.
To promote efficiency and accuracy in testing procedures, minimizing errors and improving turnaround time for clients in the gem and jewellery sector.
To ensure compliance with international industry regulations, enhancing the global recognition of the laboratory
