1st RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM – 2023

The 1st GJRTI Annual Symposium was held on 25.10.2023 at BMICH, Colombo 07. Its theme was ‘Towards the sustainable Gem and Jewellery Industry’. The proceedings of it included 19 research abstracts under 5 tracks and the review panel comprised 24 academic and industrial experts. The symposium’s ultimate objective was to guarantee the industry’s sustainability through the sharing of research findings.

2nd INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM – 2024

The 2nd GJRTI International Research Symposium will be held on 02nd August 2024 at BMICH, Colombo, Sri Lanka, under the theme “Gearing the Gem and Jewellery Industry Towards Economic Growth”. Organized by the Gem and Jewellery Research and Training Institute (GJRTI) under the Ministry of Industries, this event aims to foster innovation and sustainability in the sector by showcasing cutting-edge research and facilitating knowledge exchange among academic and industry experts. Building on the success of the 1st Symposium in 2023, the 2024 proceedings will feature multidisciplinary research contributions to drive the industry’s growth and global competitiveness.
