GJRTI is equipped with modern research facilities dedicated to support the gem and jewellery sector. The institute houses facilities and laboratories for field surveying and sampling, mineral processing, gemmology, geochemistry, gem treatment, advanced analytical testing, and geographical information system and mapping. These resources enable applied research, quality evaluation, treatment analysis, value addition, and innovation, supporting both academic and industrial development.
